I HATE that I can'tget flash on my ipad and whenever I hear that someone is considering an iPad i quickly discourage this because you can't get Flash!!
craig goslan,
I have a PC and an ipad, my ipad sits collecting dust while I use my PC, because my ipad has no Flash
Noel Garcia,

xxxxxxxx,
Need Flash for Weight Watchers. Will ditch both my iPhone and iPad if it's not available soon!
xxxxxxxx,
xxxxxxxx,
If i had known about this before (and lack of java support) i wasn't gona buy it :(. Considering replacing it with Galaxy Tab...
xxxxxxxx,
Just purchased my new iPad. If I would have known I may have reconsider. Have a lot of info that I cannot view. Also I feel the media should look into this. We the customers have the right to know this before we spend our hard earned money on devices we cannot use for all our needs.
xxxxxxxx,
xxxxxxxx,
I feel I am being robbed of using the full potential of my iPad2 by not being able to install Flash Adobe
Ashley Wood,
Flash does not work on a touchscreen that is why it is not included, it requires mouse over and clicks to function something that is not possible on a real touchscreen, go and buy a priced of junk like a playmate or Samsung plastic piece of crap. It's not that apple won't let iPad run flash, it's that flash is not developed enough to run on iPad! Go and learn why before you send these petitions
Joyce Briscoe,
I bought this iPad to use weight watchers tools as I travel. Now, I discover I ca not get adobe flash player. Why is this product do deficient? This is so unlike apple. I am very disappointed. Will this issue be corrected soon.?
Maggie Speirs,
Love my iPad but can't use it with my students to work on line with math's sites as most require Adobe. Do you have an alternative suggestion for me?
xxxxxxxx,
I really miss having flash on my iDevice. I simply don't feel it gives me the full internet experience I was hoping to get. It's a great device but I want it to be my option whether or not I want flash on it. Maybe a simple disable button in settings or something would suffice. Those who want flash, kudos, those who don't, just disable it! Or maybe 2 versions of safari would do!
xxxxxxxx,
xxxxxxxx,
I love my iPAD but it is really annoying that many sites I view require Flash which the iPAd doesn't support. I then have to go on my laptop - this defeats having an iPAD. I'm not sure the reasons iPAD does allow Flash but Apple needs to sort this out as you will lose customers. I can't even use my companies website as it has Flash.
xxxxxxxx,
The original iphone advertisements said "it isn't the internet on your phone, it's just the internet". Hate to tell you, it's not the internet without flash.
xxxxxxxx,
Adobe Flash should be available on iPad.
xxxxxxxx,
Bought an i-pad for my son for educational purposes, for me to use when traveling. Extremely disappointed that sites not accessible. i-pad will be returned tomorrow. Understand there are other pads that will meet our needs.
xxxxxxxx,
iPad is slightly useless to my child without a flash player very dissapointed
xxxxxxxx,
I can't view the information on a car site I needed and I don't know what else I can use in place of the Adobe Flash Player.
James,
xxxxxxxx,
I think it's a crock of shit apple wont allow flash on the iPad I love the iPad and iPod touch but I've been really thinking about selling and switching to droid tables apple is to caught up in what they want there to busy to see what the customer wants I mean heck we spend 500 or more on there products the least they can do is give us what we want
Brandon,
What do we want FLASH PLAYER when do we want it NOW
ÁngelNHerrero,
xxxxxxxx,
Just purchased 2 ipads for my children for xmas as their only present to use for school work & games as it was cheaper than a laptop. More fool me as i wasn't aware it didn't have flash. iPads are now listed on Ebay and buying another tablet. You really let us down apple over such a foolish choice not to provide flash. I'm sure i'm not the only loyal customer you have lost!
jim,
I hate apple, I hate doing things apples way. It is mind boggling just how stupid you actually have to be to produce a tablet of any kind in which users cannot use the device THE WAY THEY WANT TOO!!! Wake up and smell the coffee it's not about apple it's about us with the cash to buy your products. I personally use android tabs and phones and they are fantastic open community means if something doesn't work just download another app which does but I have to support crappy apple products and when people ask why can't I view YouTube on my iPad I just tell them that apple are assholes.
xxxxxxxx,
I bought the iPad2 for my daughter to help with her education. It turns out that the standard education software "Mathletics" cannot run on the iPad. No adobe flash! Unless this is rectified, This iPad will be only good for games, which is pretty poor. Why didn't I go for one of the other tablets!?
xxxxxxxx,
I sell my 3GS. I won't Huy 4S. I Will Huy Samsung now. Written on my iPad 2. Thanks Apple.
Tammy,
xxxxxxxx,
Really can't believe that Apple still haven't allied Flash Player on the ipad2! Unbelievable and very very annoying that you can't see half the website content you need, when one of the main uses of the iPad is web browsing! Waaah!
Nancy,
I will probably sell my iPad and get a galaxy tab or zoom, I need flash player for work. Just give us flash player
xxxxxxxx,
Cody Uphoff,
Why doesnt this ipad have flash!? I cant think of any logical reasoning for it, and its very annoying not being able to do half of the crap i want to on my ipad.
xxxxxxxx,
Apple's policy of not allowing Flash Player for iPad and iPhone is not a slap in the face to Adobe. It is a slap in the faced to Aple's own loyal customers! It makes no sense to limit the usefulness of iPads and iPhones for millions of users.
xxxxxxxx,
Very upset about the fact that iPad does not support flash. Would have gotten another tablet if I would have known before buying. Will tell future intrested buyers.
xxxxxxxx,
It's ridiculous to spend so much money on the ipad2 and not be able to open many cites because the iPad doesn't support flash player!
xxxxxxxx,
ben brawn,
Muneesh,
I feel really stupid tobuy an ipad 2 64 gb paying lot of money.now i feel this unit is only a useless ipad where am not able to any of my planned work or entertainment. I am going to recommend all my friends dont even go for this ipad .no flash player"..
Jonathan Marceau,
This situation is unacceptable, allow flash content to show on ipad!
Cath Elliott,
I love Apple products but feel so limited regarding some sites and online games. If flash is not made available on Apple products, my next purchase will definitely be non Apple and flash compatible.
Dave Roth,
5 iPhones and 2 iPads in our family. Obviously we think they are great devices but the fact they don't support Flash is ridiculous? It's time to fix this Apple - you are allowing the competition to catch up.
xxxxxxxx,
Why no flash it is something nearly everyone needs on a daily basis. I don't get my games on Facebook like I can on my laptop. Wake up Apple and give us what we want
Alisa,
Just because of some personal grudge or because of business conflict, consumers have to be deprived of Flash on the iPad? This is one thing that makes iPad and their designers look "stupid"! I'm a long time graphic designer who has learned to use Flash over the years, and I'm proud of my skills with the application and the capabilities of the program never cease to amaze me. My children and I also enjoy a lot of websites that currently utilize Flash online. Looks like this holiday season I am going to have to buy an Android based tablet.
Tracy Watson,
My husband has a photography website which uses flash to display the images - I can't access it which is useless for business - I will be returning mu Ipad in exchange for an android
JingleSPOT, inc.,
We'll buy hundreds more iPads for staff, if you fix the Flash. Otherwise, we are forced to have Android Tablets as well, so we have to stock both for demos. Please, fix the Flash issue, then make use a 1,000 iPad lease package. We're growing. We want to go exclusive with iPads.
Kisha,
I need flash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
xxxxxxxx,
Just bought Ipad2 for daughter so she can do Mathletics to find it is not possible to use this website ! shame on Apple !!!
Jose,
If i had known that there was no flash support i would have never bought this thing, i cannot use half of the websites that j need! One thing is play by apple's restrictive rules and something else is this... Limitin the webs that you can see! A pure and utter joke!
April Rigdon,
xxxxxxxx,
All excited about my new ipad2, only to find that I cannot play my facebook games...... Not so happy anymore
xxxxxxxx,
This is ridiculous, either support flash or offer an alternative. Way to reduce a 'great' product to a good one
Mr A Bates,
xxxxxxxx,
This ban has gone on long enough
xxxxxxxx,
Maley Brancaccio,
My ONLY complaint about the IPad. No Flash.
xxxxxxxx,
Really getting frustrated that Aople refuses to put Flash on iPad. We own three so we obviously are fans of the product but have to use a laptop or PC to do to many things. It really takes away the convenience factor.
Cristi,
Please include Flash on Ipad, I can´t do my job properly! nor can I entertain myself properly!
Dinesh,
I am not happy after buying iPad2 and not having flash is one of the major reason :-( I know this is not the platform but I wanted to mention that iPad should allow to store whatever file you want in whatever structure you want ( I mean should allow making drive for storing my stuff). Sometimes it takes so much to sync and stuff....that it frustrates :-(
Andrew,
Will Hoskin,
The lack of flash availability limits the usefulness of the Ipad, which is otherwise an excellent product
xxxxxxxx,
xxxxxxxx,
Dolores Laffoley,
Waited long time to get my iPad and miss having Flash Player. Very disappointing too say the least.
Paul Isaac\'s,
It's the single reason to buy a tablet - so the wife can play facebook flash-based games - she's hooked! but no flash, no iPad...
Kathy howard,
I can't use my iPad like my laptop and thats why I got it
Heather Powell,
xxxxxxxx,
Thank you
xxxxxxxx,
Not happy, petitioned the principal of my school to allow me to buy iPads out of my budget so we could view the online textbooks we've just bought into. Red face, textbooks use flash. So I can't use the iPads for the purpose we bought them for :-(
xxxxxxxx,
Kate,
Ipad 2 should have flash. Without purchasing ffom stores. So my child can be better at maths by doing mathletics.
xxxxxxxx,
The lack of flash on ipad is the only thing that is making me consider another tablet.
xxxxxxxx,
I need flash player for my iPad plz .
xxxxxxxx,
Very frustrating not to be able to get radar loops in severe weather situations!
xxxxxxxx,
Has anyone asked their advice to developers?
Blayze Millward,
xxxxxxxx,
I change my Ipad for a Galaxy, thanks Steve!
Susan officer,
xxxxxxxx,
Debbie Geddes,
None of my childrens school websites eg. Mathematics works without flashplayer!
xxxxxxxx,
I do love my ipad for reading but it is nearly impossible to use with video!!! If this was available, my ipad would be perfect; but since it's not, I tell everyone I know flash is not available and to consider something else!!!!
xxxxxxxx,
I bought the ipad2 for my 6 year daughter whose school using mathletics and it needs flash! I love ipad2 but it does not serve it's purpose!!!!
Sheri vankirk,
xxxxxxxx,
I'm am really disappointed with apple I pad , after paying £40 to join a club , needed flash !!! Was not aware of apple not allowing flas player ..... Would never have bought it ., wasted
xxxxxxxx,
michael doherty,
great item love it but i need to access web pages with flash for my work please help us
Leigh,
I have no respect for a company who refuses to support such a widely accepted form of media delivery, while in turn inhibiting the experience of its customers, many, of whom, are oblivious to the downsides of a capable product.
xxxxxxxx,
$$$ You'll still make your millions upon millions. I promise.
xxxxxxxx,
We shouldn't be penalized for buying into the fantastic hype that surrounded the original iPad. Just give us Flash, and everyone will be happy :0) See? I could have bought a laptop for a bit more money and I'd be watching TV, Movies, etc right now. C'mon, Apple, gimme my Flash....
xxxxxxxx,
xxxxxxxx,
This is ridiculous and stubborn behavior that does not have the customer in focus. It is THE key reason for me to think about other tablets.
xxxxxxxx,
As a dedicated mac fan of over 25 years I wish to register my dismay at the lack of flash on ipad. My company developed a whole series of solutions that run on flex (built by the way on macs) to have to back out of flash and rebuild on html5 will cost a fortune and will mean considerably greater browser support costs. We have already had to point a major UK publisher at an alternative 'pad' for their users to use our solution.
xxxxxxxx,
Please you don't loss nothing
xxxxxxxx,
xxxxxxxx,
Come on, what's the story here? I like catching the news when I travel but can't watch anything because of this testosterone fight between these companies. Sort it out guys, it really is annoying and takes a lot from the iPad's versatility.
xxxxxxxx,
Traveling through Europe without Flash was difficult. It was the first time I considered leaving Apple products after 20 years.
Other online petitions etc:
You should also consider signing the “I want Flash” petition (covers iPod touch and iPhone too) http://iwantflash.com/iwantflash-petition
If you use Adobe software, consider joining the facebook group “I’m with adobe“

do it please put flash on or i wont buy it as it will be rubish
no flash no purchase
Who would buy a system without Flash. That is taking about 50% of the internet away…. THANKS STEVE… you idiot.
Apple’s self-serving is serving the best interests of the web. Keep the web free of proprietary standards. If Apple loses this battle, Adobe will own rich content creation on the web. And then MS will want their share with Silverlight.
A vote for Flash is a vote for paying to create content on the future web.
Someone needs to wake up Adobe and inform them that it’s the 21st century -not 1998: we’ve moved on.

Signatory Richard accused us of being “a well financed effort by Apple’s competitors to fool people about the real issues.” If only! Send the cheques right here, competitors!
And just to clarify, don’t have an issue with lack of flash on iPhone – well, we own an iPod touch, web access is just a nice extra and you don’t really miss the flash. As a web developer, I have created mobile versions of some sites for the small screen, sans flash, not a problem.
But my instinct is that web access will be a lot more important on the iPad and I do think its frustrating and high handed of Apple to not give users the choice of whether to run it or block it.
Hey Owen, rubbish has two b’s in it. If you can’t spell it you probably don’t know anything about Flash. Moron.
Jean-Marc, you wouldn’t buy an iPad if it supported flash. Do you own a computer? IT supports flash? I can’t believe you love Apple and the iPad so much yet you haven’t actually bought one yet. Hypocrite.
TW. Love you. Except you’re wrong. Way more than 50% of websites use flash. The true number is probably closer to 90%. That makes Steve a HUGE idiot.
Chris O Jobs. Open-sourced standards are best, however, the entire reason Flash was created is that HTML couldn’t do the job. Why lock yourself into a straight-jacket when you can encourage actual innovation and design in improving the internet and the user-experience. Since Apple has locked its devices down and controls what apps get installed, Apple has complete control over the internet. Apple IS THE PROPRIETARY company trying to control everything. Create an innovative app, Apple decides, nope, we don’t want it. Can’t use it. On the good-ol’ Internet you can do whatever you want.
Player_16, we are moving on from Adobe. Steve Jobs was right, HTML5 is the future of the Internet. However, keep in mind that’s the “FUTURE” of the Internet. The present is Flash and SilverLight and whatever else is out there. Have fun staring at all those blue lego-blocks surfing the net on your iPad.
If Apple gave people the option to opt-out of Flash then all of your arguments are useless. Don’t want Flash, don’t install it on your Apple device. Want Flash? Sure, go ahead, use it! Apple are forgetting about the literally millions of people who would purchase their devices if they went a little more mainstream instead of catering to the mindless followers of Steve-Jesus-Jobs.
Personally, I think Steve Jobs just logged in and posted these uneducated ‘opinions.’
apple is trying to replace flash a full fledged application
development platform with html5 a freaking markup language for web pages and only web pages? the crap you can’t even make good action games with HTML so html5 can’t possibly replace flash
Petitioner “not a retard” thinks there is little point petitioning Apple to change the iPad after having bought it. A few points:
- the petition is to tell Apple we are not happy about their policy, whether or not it is changed. Apple needs be in no doubt that their business strategising on flash is creating dissatisfaction for a lot of their customers, current and potential.
- technically, because it is a software not a hardware change, flash could be put on iPads already sold. iPhone OS 4 will introduce multitasking, heck someone hacked windows 95 onto it!
- Apple’s reputation as the worlds most admired tech company with a following loyal to the point of offense has not been won by ignoring customers once they have bought their products.
On this last point, there have in the past been a number of instances where people-power has won compromises from Apple. One time they provided the previous version of iMovie free for purchasers of one of their iLife suites, because enough people indicated their dislike for the upgraded version of the program. Mac OSX when first released had a number of quite “unMaclike” omissions that Apple restored after a clamour of customer demand.
Apple is (or has been in the past…) that kind of company! At some point, particularly if iPad sales are stagnating, once Flash 10.1 has actually been released, it would a very easy move to reduce the threat of competition from other pads to put Flash on the iPad. The windows release of iTunes all those years ago – one of the best moves Apple ever made – was accompanied by the slogan “hell froze over”.
No Flash on iPad is an Apple WIN! Very little Flash content is worth the issues that Flash introduces into the browser. Flash was fine as long as it belonged to Macromedia, once Adobe bought it and started monkeying with it, Flash’s quality and security fell through the floor.
Show Adobe that you don’t like their proprietary ways! Buy Corel instead!

Doesn’t seem to be to big of an issue, 358 votes out of 1,000.000 iPads users. Flash was no loss on my iPod Touch and HTML5 is the future
Well, research generally shows that for every 1 complaint there are approx 25 who silently take their business elsewhere. Add to that the relative obscurity of this site – there are certainly a lot more dissatisfied people out there than ever find their way here – and I really do think Apple has a problem. The stories that people write are eloquent: they are about simple, obvious frustrations using the iPad for web surfing, where it should be a joy.
Time will tell how this pans out, as the initial early adopter sales taper off, and viable competitors eventually become available at a lower price with better functionality.
It’s a very good think that Apple denies Flash on their new products for the multiple technical reasons developed by Steve Jobs. Flash is nothing but a crappy proprietary buggy and unsecure software made for uneducated web developers. However, Apple should remove the interdiction to use third party development tools to please all these moron developers since it can always deny the access to the Apple store to any application that does not match their requirements. Period.
The iPad is a toy, so who cares if it uses flash or not
To have flash or not, since it is software, should be the user/customers choice!
No flash on iPad sucks. Flash, love it or hate it it is a huge slice of the net.
I do not see how HTML 5 will be able to offer engaging interactive content that only Flash can provide. I have been using Flash since it was introduced back in 1996. Flash has become a powerful multimedia authoring application and it continues to amaze me with each new release.
I create mobile pages for every flash site I design as it makes them search engine friendly, but these mobile sites have limited content. From this day forward, each mobile page I construct will have a link to this petition.
My customers come to me because they want web presentations that will give their visitors and potential customers a memorable experience. I offer Flash services at an exceptional value because I love creating content that tickles the eye. Lets face it folks, Flash isn’t going anywhere…
Greed compels Apple to fill the coffers of their app store. I am confident that if enough people complain to Apple about their lack of support for flash, they will do something about it.
-My 2 cents worth…
its better to wait and see…who knows a computer tablet like an ipad would be available soon also touch screen, running windows 7…ipad then will be obsolete, thats one reason why ipad is selling there products fast even with lack of functionality..ie flash, because of the new generations of tablets, so i suggest wait and see, and youll get a better deal, better kind of ereader than the limited frustrating ipad
I’m very disappointed with Apple’s riff with Adobe over Flash. I suppose they can’t allow Flash on the iPad or iPhone because it will allow a work around to the app store, but this is just ridiculous. I want an iPad to create blog posts while away from my computer, but my blog service is Flash-based. I guess I’ll be buying a Samsung Galaxy Tab since Apple doesn’t consider the needs of its customers that keep them in business.
This is just a example of what you see when you go on a website wich is needed flash player it’s so unfair even if you can buy the flash for iPad even then I would be happy or an app on the app store would be great but me personally I think it’s putting me of the iPad it’s appoling and no one will like the iPad without it flash player is so usefull and would be even more useful if on iPad so to be honest I’m not getting another apple thing until they agree to have flash player the world will be put of apple because at least give us some of flash player
From Lewis
P.s. I’m 9 and I am not happy with it one bit it’s a disability to most things on the internet
