Reflecting the comments we have had here from iPad owners, lack of flash is the number one negative with the iPad. For all the “flash is dead” talk, its simply everywhere and its annoying to try to surf the web without it for average users. Apple need to factor the people into their calculations!

What’s up with those iPad sales figures being collected by the Chitika network? On Monday Apple announced that the iPad had sold 1 million in 28 days, but merely 2 days later the the feisty Chitika counter of sales is just shy of 2 million mark. Previously the figures dropped by 800,000 on...

Biggest number of new signatories ever on a single day* following Steve Jobs’ “Thoughts on Flash”!
Things should “just work”, “magically”, you see. After the weasel words our readers are still saying “just make it friggin’ work, Steve”.
Apple-lovers...

Blend it, hit it with a baseball bat rather than this! We at Flash4ipad could arguably be accused of wishing ill to Apple’s iPad. But even we, even probably Cory Doctorow would draw the line at running windows 95 on it (assuming this is for real). Even if it will allow you to play Farmville;...

The “iPad ready” (according to Apple) New York Times website features a beautiful exploded interactive illustration of the iPad … in flash! It can’t be viewed on iPad. Arrgh… you’re messing with our heads, NYT!

Be inspired…NOT. Ebay on iPad – you see a big white space on the home page! There is of course, an easy solution for ebay: buy an iAd (Apple revenue cut – 40%).
Update: as of 21 April ebay have released a highly regarded iPad-specific App, to bridge the gap between the Flash-broken...

Rumour today that the levels of buyers remorse and returns on the iPad are unusually high.
Another commentator has found obvious evidence that Apple have designed the iPad hardware and software to take a camera.
Apple’s obsessive need to control the iPad makes the workflow for word processing...

There is an app for iPad and iPhone called teleport that allows you to access your desktop screen through the mobile device via internet. This could include a browser running farmville. Apparently it takes a bit of getting used to, but for all you desperate Farmville addicts out there, that want...

I’d love an iPad, but some of the buyer’s remorse around the internet is sounding decidedly Newtonish. You know, the Apple device people could see was cool, but no one quite had a use for:
“people’s reactions to my MessagePad generally depend on whether they see it as a ‘big...

The visualisations in Google’s popular analytics tool are rendered in Flash, so if this is important to you don’t count on an iPad to access them!

Nice try Apple, but the approved list of “iPad ready” sites are still full of holes where flash should be, because Flash does a whole lot more than just play video. As for the rest of the internet, as David Pogue experienced: “thousands of Web sites show up with empty white squares...

The first iPad reviews are in from the traditional Apple chosen ones (pogue, mossberg, ihnatko et al) as the iPad juggernaut follows apples patented hype template. We’ve never doubted the thing will be brilliant, and that actually using it, everything would make sense. My favourite lines:...

Flash 10.1 consistently outperforms Canvas in frame rates, particularly on android in this impressive video demonstration. iPhone performance can’t be measured for Flash obviously, but Canvas performance is dire, worse than Android.

Steve Jobs legendary anger management issues would be sorely tested at the news that google and adobe have teamed up to not only allow flash on the chrome platform but to embrace it more thoroughly than any platform before. News also out today that web surfing rates on Android is on the rise as iPhone...

This is a really good site… we left our 6 year old on it, and he could navigate it really well. It is a whole bunch of informative interactive flash animations on various subjects aimed at kids… I really don’t think you could create brainpop on HTML5!

Where to start! There is so much amusing parody material about the iPad on youtube. This one summarises it all, and is relatively underviewed for how funny it is. You’ll not take those unctious videos of jonathon ive and phil schiller straight again.

Tim Bray, new at Google is the kind of loyal Apple customer they really need. In a blistering attack on Apple, he decried the walled disneyfied garden they are creating, surrounded by sharp toothed lawyers.

Good analysis by the Register of the challenges facing Google in trying to create a tablet to rival the iPad. They make a perceptive point that the real competition is things like TV, books and games consoles, not the rest of the tablet/netbook/ereader market. This is where Apple’s intensive emphasis on design, familiarity and ease

The early adopters bought their iPads with a defiant stance towards flash – (ie: “who needs it” “I always block it anyway” “Flash is the past, HTML5 is the future”). Add a few weeks, the iPad purchase compromises are forgotten and the trash talk and slagging has started about anyone who dares still have a
